I have been using Ik to move legs in a walking sequence for a MEC
animation. When I parent the goal to the top of the leg chain, movement of
the goal seems to get real sensitive.
When not parented to the chain, I have good control, but the goal gets left
in the dust. Is this something that works better with the final version that
has IK restrictions? Or is there a better way of setting up my hierarchy?
eg.(null IK target-goal null, null parent to foot, foot parent to lower leg,
lower leg parent to upper leg, upper leg parent to hip)
What I have wound up doing is to create one walk cycle for each leg, set
all objects in the chain to repeat, and move the MEC forward. This seems to
work, but is not what I am really after. In lightWave there is always more
than one way to solve a problem, I would be interested to hear how other
people have setup walk cycles using IK.
